Bring your TDC closer to your detectors!

cronologic TimeTagger4 and xTDC4 time-to-digital converters (TDCs) are now also available as external desktop versions. These can be connected with standard Thunderbolt cables to any Thunderbolt port and any USB4 port that supports PCIe.

Some of our customers attach great importance to keeping the distances for their measurement cables as short as possible in their measurement setups. We are happy to meet this request by offering our TDCs as an alternative in a crate, which is designed as a desktop device. In terms of performance, these device variants are of course in no way inferior to their board-based counterparts.

A separate TDC device is often an advantage, especially in a university environment, as simple commissioning without mounting in a PC tower is more practical, as this provides a better overview of the measurement setup.

In case you later decide that you would prefer to operate your TDC in a PC housing, this change is possible without major effort. It is also technically possible to retrofit an existing cronologic TimeTagger4-PCIe or xTDC4-PCIe with such a crate.
